SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KGTV) -- San Diego based Sailors are getting ready to deploy to Argentina to help with the search of the missing submarine.

The crew of 44 has not been heard from since Wednesday. On Monday, Argentinian officials said the sub's captain reported a battery problem before communications were cut off.

The Navy is transported its Undersea Rescue Command (URC) on several Air Force aircraft. The URC consists of two rescue systems and an intervention system. One rescue system is designed for deep sea rescue, the other for shallow waters. The Navy is taking both since the location of the submarine is still unknown. The intervention system can provide supplies to the sailors while they are rescued.
