The city was able to get water flowing to some areas overnight but they say the water ran low and tanks along the line break were emptied and some residents may still experience low-water pressure.

They say there is still one rural district without water.

Right now, they are trying to pump 4400 gallons and say it will take some time to get back up.

So they are asking everyone to conserve as much water as possible throughout the day to help refill the system.

The city says there is no mandatory boil order, but they have we have issued a voluntary, precautionary order to ensure that no contamination occurred during the downtime.

At this point, the city says there is no indication of any contamination and they are working very hard to make sure that continues.

McAlester's Mayor John Browne and the City of McAlester posted an update on Facebook this morning.
