Road Rage Murder on Aberdeen Drive
On May 13, 2017, at 9:30 PM, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 29400 block of Aberdeen Drive in Magnolia, TX in reference to a shooting. When Deputies arrived, they found 56 year old Jose Augusto Lozada lying on the side of the road with gunshot wounds to the head and torso. The Sheriff’s Office Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and learned that the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident that began at the intersection of Aberdeen Dr. and Highland Blvd. The shooter, identified as 21 year old Christopher Delacruz (also of Magnolia), followed Lozada to his residence after a minor collision and a disturbance began between Delacruz and Lozada. Delacruz retrieved a semi-automatic pistol from his vehicle and fired multiple shots at Lozada, striking him at least twice and killing him. Delacruz was located, waiting in his truck near the scene, by MCSO Patrol Deputies who detained without incident. Based on the evidence recovered during the scene investigation, Delacruz was arrested and has been booked into the Montgomery County Jail for Murder.
