Student injured in Bossier school bus crash

HAUGHTON, LA (KSLA) - An elementary school student was injured in crash involving a Bossier Parish school bus Monday morning.

The Louisiana State Police are working a crash Monday morning in Haughton involving at least 4 cars and a school bus.

It happened around 7:15 a.m. on Hwy. 80 east of 157 on Acorn Hill. Louisiana State Police are investigating the crash, which also involved at least 4 other vehicles.

The injured student attends Platt Elementary and was said to be shaken up, but her injuries are believed to be minor.

Bossier schools spokesperson Sonja Bailes said the student was sitting in the back of the bus when it was struck. She was taken to Willis Knighton Bossier.

LSP spokesperson Matt Harris says one person in another vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

Bailes said the bus was carrying students 32 students in all from T.L. Rodes, Platt and Princeton elementary schools. Parents were notified and another bus was dispatched and took the students from the scene to their respective schools.

The cause of the crash is unclear at this time. Louisiana State Police are investigating.
