Two Merritt Island men died after crashing into a ditch early Saturday in Brevard County, just west of the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
William Spake and Chad Foley, both 24, were in a 2004 Chevy Cavalier at 2 a.m. going east on Crisafulli Road when the crash happened, Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Montes said.
Spake, who was driving, lost control of the car and veered off the road, Montes said.
The car hit a utility pole, then went into a water-filled ditch, Montes said.
Spake and Foley both died at the scene of the crash, Montes said.
Troopers will investigate what caused the crash.
